Garden State Equality Schedule

During the remainder of 2010, you will witness civil rights history and have an incomparable opportunity to be part of it.
You'll see history not only in California, where the U.S. Court of Appeals will hear the Proposition 8 lawsuit, but also in New Jersey, where a new lawsuit for marriage equality will have Garden State Equality as a driving force. The New Jersey Supreme Court invited us to go to trial to prove the civil union law has failed to provide equality to same-sex couples. We will now demonstrate that to the world.

You couldn't ask for more exciting months than those immediately ahead.

To support the upcoming lawsuit in New Jersey, Garden State Equality is holding three EQUALITY WALKS in September: One each in North, Central and South Jersey. As with the well-known AIDS Walks across the country, each participant in our EQUALITY WALKS will be sponsored by friends, family and colleagues pledging whatever they can. 100 percent of the proceeds from our EQUALITY WALKS will go to Garden State Equality's marriage lawsuit support fund.

Later this week, we will post on our website, www.GardenStateEquality.org, forms where participants, hopefully including you, can fill out your information, as well as information for your sponsors and other walkers you've asked to join you.

For now, we ask you to save the dates to participate in one of our EQUALITY WALKS,
Each EQUALITY WALK will end with a free barbecue or picnic for all sponsored walkers.

If you have any questions, please contact Garden State Equality's managing director of advocacy, Troy Stevenson, at Stevenson@GardenStateEquality.org or cell (405) 802-8229.
