Buddies of NJ, Inc, the premier AIDS service and support organization for Bergen and Passaic Counties, is pleased to announce that Theresa Coppla has been appointed by the Board of Trustee to become the Executive Director effective March 1, 2019.

Ms. Coppla has provided financial management and accounting services for the organization for nearly a decade.  She has, for the last five months, stepped in as Interim Director increasing her respect for and support of a competent staff.  Prior to working for Buddies of NJ, Ms. Coppla began her own business where she was the lead Financial Manager / Business Consultant to multiple clients.  Her exposure to a wide variety of businesses has made her eager to concentrate singularly on Buddies of NJ, apply her expertise, and provide growth as the new Executive Director.  Ms. Coppla seeks to take Buddies of NJ to the next level by providing strategic planning, program development and overall fiscal management alongside a tremendous staff.

Martin Gilbert, DPM, Chair of the organization, and his fellow board members are thrilled to welcome Ms. Coppla into the Executive role.  “As Interim Executive Director, Ms. Coppla has demonstrated a deep understanding of the mission and work of this organization, as well as an ability to keep moving us forward at a time of transition,” Dr. Gilbert notes. “We are eager to chart a new course for Buddies of NJ with Ms. Coppla at the helm.”
